Elymus riparius, Riverbank wild rye, is aptly named for its utility when doing streambank or riverbank rehabilitation.  This perennial cool season grass is good for erosion control in moist areas. Riverbank wild rye has 4' tall dark green foliage that grows actively in the spring and fall. Although only a moderate seeder, the seeds of Riverbank wild rye are vigorous to help further establish itself in moist areas.
